Visiting downtown Port Jefferson can build an appetite and there are plenty of ways to satisfy your hunger. Eateries surround the village so when you’re here ~Start Eating.
 
The Port Jefferson Ferry Company carries passengers and vehicles to and from Port Jefferson, Long Island to Bridgeport, Connecticut. The company is located in Port Jefferson, New York and the phone number is 631-473-0286. There are three ferries available and you may ride your bicycle, drive your vehicle, or walk onto any one of them. Port Jefferson Ferry has hourly departures within this 75 minute ride.
 
Enjoy the Summer Harborside Concert Series hosted by Port Jefferson Village with the sounds of some of Long Island finest musical ensembles. Bring your lawn chairs to Memorial  Park across from Village Hall for these evening concerts that begin at 8 P.M.
 
The Gallery at the Village Center is located on the second floor mezzanine. Exhibits change throughout the year ranging from historic photographic images of surrounding areas of interest, to works from local renowned artists.
 
Farmer’s Market is every sunday beginning May 15 from 9:00 – 1:00. You can purchase local produce, bread, baked goods, seafood, flowers and plants and there’s also live music.
 
 The Village Center hosts a variety of recreational and leisure-time activities for the young and beyond. The Village Center provides a unique  variety of educational, cultural events and recreational activities. There is always something to do at the Village Center.
 
The Dickens Festival is an annual Village celebration of the author of A Christmas Carol. It features costumed characters, decorated streets and shops, Victorian entertainment and food. This holiday festival offers many free or low-cost attractions. Many performances, an old-fashioned marketplace on East Main Street, carriage and trolley rides, a lantern-lit house tour of historic homes and a Grand Final Parade that is sponsored by the Greater Port Jefferson Northern Brookhaven Arts Council.
 
Movies on the Harbor ~ Each summer the Village of Port Jefferson and the Business Improvement District sponsor a series of movies at Harborfront Park. Showtime is at dusk so you can also catch a beautiful sunset in the background over Port Harbor.  Families are encouraged to bring your blankets, lawn chairs and a picnic style dinner for a fun evening of togetherness while watching your favorite family movies.
There is the Maritine Explorium, Children’s Programs, Youth, Adult and Senior Programs in Port Jefferson Village. Also, the Village Art Walk and Pet Adoption, plus Port Jefferson has hiking, Fun in Art, The Artist in Me, Country Western Dance for Couples, Baking for children, Summer Art Camp and so much more.
