This active 55+ retirement community was built in 2005 in Suffolk County.  For the enjoyment  of the owners, Sunken Ponds includes a clubhouse, gym, pool, card room, and bocci.  Included in the common charges is the lawn maintenance and snow removal, and pets are welcome here.  The community is surrounded by street names of Pebble Beach Path, Winged Foot Way, Augusta Alley, Baltusrol Blvd, Amen Corner, Carnoustie Ct, and St Andrews Avenue. There’s the Augusta ranch design, as well as The Mainstone Townhouse with the master on the main level, and the Cyprus which is an upper unit.

 Sunken Ponds ranges in size from 1300 sq ft to 18oo sq ft. Located at the end of The Long Island Expressway Exit 73 to Mills and Middle Road, this gated active senior retirement community has approximately 192 units in total.  It is close to plenty of shopping, including the Tanger outlet shopping complex, beaches, vineyards and transportation.   Each  condo at Sunken Ponds has central air conditioning and gas heat.  Some of the condominiums also have basements.  According to public records and the multiple listing service,  in 2009 Sunken Ponds in Riverhead had closed sales from  $310,000 to $352,000.

Saddle Lakes is a 55 and over active adult community in Riverhead Long Island. It can be reached by taking the Long Island Expressway to the end and then taking Route 58 East.  

Saddle Lakes was built in 2000 and has a total of 192 condo units. You enter this active adult community of Saddle Lakes at the 24 hour gatehouse.   There’s the clubhouse, indoor and outdoor pool, gym, tennis, card room, movie theatre, and walking path.  Public records show for the year 2008, Saddle Lakes had sales between $305,000 to $540,000.

Stoneleigh Woods 55 and Over Riverhead Long Island

stonleigh-woodsLocated off Exit 73 on the Long Island Expressway by Middle Road,  Stoneleigh Woods is a newer 55 and over condo community in Riverhead Long Island.  There will be 3 phases to this community with approximately 60 condos in each phase.  Situated on about 40 acres, the condominiums will be groupings of 4 attached units. 

Stoneleigh Woods , when completed, will be a gated community, and is adjacent to Cherry Creek Golf course.  Also, there are plans for a clubhouse, fitness center and heated pool. There are 2 models at Stoneleigh Woods both with 2 bedrooms and either 2 or 2.5 baths. The Aspen model has both bedrooms on the main level with a storage loft on the upper and are the end units.  The Birch, which are the interior units,  have 1 bedroom on the main level and 1 bedroom on the upper. They range in size from approximately 1,942 to a little over 2,000 square feet.
