Built in the late 1970’s,  Acorn Ponds can be navigated to by The Long Island Expressway Exit 35 and head South.  The street names in this neighborhood are Acorn Ponds Drive, Spring Hollow, Frost Pond, Squirrel Hill, Chestnut Hill, Pheasant Run, Old Field, and Fox Ridge.  There are various floor-plans within this community that include 3 bedrooms with 2.5 baths, 2 bedrooms 2 baths, and 2 bedrooms 1.5 baths. Acorn Ponds is close to The Long Island Expressway, The Northern State Parkway and plenty of shopping.

Acorn Ponds has a clubhouse, indoor and outdoor pool, tennis, gym, and play area.  During the evening hours there is night security. This area is serviced by the Herricks School District #9 . When checking public records for 2009,  Acorn Ponds in North Hills Long Island had sales between $530,000 to $620,000.
