Yes…There are 3 Leisure 55 and Over Communities in Ridge Long Island:

Leisure Village, Leisure Knoll, and Leisure Glen are 3 Leisure Communities in Ridge Long Island. Each of these communities is an active 55 and over residence.

 

Leisure Village was built in the 1970’s.  At Leisure Village, included for your enjoyment is a clubhouse with billiard room, library, ceramics, wood shop, gym, sewing, cards meeting room and social events. Outside is a pool, tennis,  private 9-hole golf course, shuffleboard, BBQ, gardens and more. Leisure Village is a 24 hour guard-gated 55 and over condo community. The condominiums are attached units with 1 and 2 bedrooms. According to public records of the multiple listing service, so far as of this date (October 2013) Condos at Leisure Village sold between $53,000 for a 1 bedroom 1 bath to $235,000 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath Condo.

Leisure Knoll was established in 1972 and continued into the early 1980’s. It offers a pool, 2 clubhouses, gym, dance floor, billiards and tennis. Leisure Knoll is not gated, but it has roving security patrols in the evening hours.   These are mostly detached single family units within a Homeowners Association. When checking public records, as of October 2013,  homes in Leisure Knoll sold from $122,500  to $250,000.

Leisure Glen is the newer of the 3 leisure communities in Ridge New York, and was built in the late 1980’s and early 2000. It has a 24 hour guard-gated entry, an active clubhouse with many activities including billiard room, card rooms, sewing, ceramics, music, library, gym, auditorium with stage, get-togethers and more. Outdoors is an Olympic size pool, tennis courts, and a beautiful landscaped walking path.  Homes at Leisure Glen are semi-detached units with attached 1 car garage, and free standing homes with attached 2 car garages.  Public records as of October 2013, indicates that residences in Leisure Glen sold between $160,000 to $310,000. 

Each of these active leisure communities, Leisure Village, Leisure Knoll and Leisure Glen has many activities and clubs, and there is a courtesy bus that goes to area shopping centers during the week. There are also planned day trips for your enjoyment.
